Lorne Park Piano Lessons

Welcome to Lorne Park Piano Lessons!  My name is Lisa Raposa and I am the program's founder and instructor.  You have come to this website through the referral of a family member or friend, or perhaps via an internet search.  Whatever the case may be, thanks for stopping by.

In 2017, I began this small business with the goal of providing the best possible instruction to students living in Lorne Park and surrounding areas.  The current roster includes children and teenagers following Royal Conservatory of Music levels 3-10.

I believe that anyone can be trained to play the piano beautifully.  Every stage of learning presents new challenges to be wrestled with and conquered.  It is my sincere wish that the process of musical discovery at the piano may be a source of pleasure to students in their years of private lessons and beyond.

A bit about myself: I graduated with a doctorate in music from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York which has long ranked as one of the top music schools in U.S.  There I studied with Jean Barr, specializing in chamber music and accompanying and also undertook private studies in solo playing with Nelita True.  My own training, therefore, involved not only long hours of solo practice but time spent in lessons with singers and instrumentalists as well.  As a result, when I teach students we often work together to find parallels amongst playing the piano, other instruments, singing, dancing and sports.  (Click here for Lisa's teaching resume.)

I hope that you will take the time to look through the pages of this site.  Please feel free to reach me via the contact page should you have questions or wish to schedule a trial lesson.
